He was director of the Uruguayan newspapers, Extra, Democracia, De Frente, Ya, El Eco, and La República. Director of Le Monde Diplomatique in Spanish. Director of the Uruguayan radio stations CX30 Radio Nacional, CX 44 AM Libre, 89.7 FM Libre and of the television channels Señal 1 and TV Libre and of weeklies and magazines. Director of the bilingual newspaper ¨Terra Viva¨ sponsored by the UN and IPS that covered the ¨Earth Summit¨ Conference in Rio de Janeiro in 1992.
