Make Poverty Illegal : an Agenda for Social Justice

Latest publication by Francine Mestrum.

The main message of this book is a statement that we are currently not fighting against poverty, on the contrary, we are producing poverty day after day. We live in a poverty factory.
The second message is that you cannot fight poverty by only working at the level of the poor. If we want to eradicate poverty we have to work with the whole of society, with a broad and really universal social protection, with tax policies, public services and another economy. Anti-poverty policies as they are promoted today are fully compatible with neoliberalism.
